Praful Ji,

As far as I am concerned after the Gujarat elections the secular media so called secular media is unable to digest the victory of Bjp, now when the Bjp had won by a 2/3 rd majority one has to respect the mandate. The people had rejected the congress completely as it had played the role of soft hindutva the people had two choices in front of them either accept the hindu hardliners which they thought were the real people or accept the B team of Hindutva
which is the congress. In a democratic setup one has the right to speak whether it is the topic of hindutva or wether it is the topic of Islam.

Sir,

I think you are feeling jealous of the victory of Bjp control you'r emotions sir, a lot of development activities had been taken place in the rural areas of gujarat by Vhp , Rss, and the sangh parivar outfits.
Not even the congress nor you had noticed these developments.

Praful Bidwai, among others are know Hindu bashers. It is amusing to see them place themselves on a morally high platform and use words like "shame" and "murder" for the people of Gujarat. This one apparently believes that he is above the rest of India and can pass value judgements from there. Simply put, these musings are amusing - and pathetic

Hindutva

I do not understand how such illogical and truly clue-free people can rise to be journalists of such standing and merit a column while not deserving even a line.

Is the article worth reading. Surely not, for it is a mass of distorted logic and utterances not based on facts. But one should, for understanding the total loss at which the whole anti-BJP brigade is.

Let us look at some of the logic of Mr. Bidwai:

1.      BJP got 49.79 percent votes (at 65% turnout) at 10.13 million votes and the secular (defined by Mr. Bidwai) parties got 9.44. One million less. So, it proves the BJP are not popular, Mr. Bidwai??? Is that because they got less than 50%???
2.      The BJPs vote rose by 6% points (which would have been at the cost of the vote of one or more of his secular parties) That is not credit to them BUT was despite abysmal governance, eh????
3.      The Congress didnt ideologically demarcate itself from the BJP So what are we accusing the BJP of, Mr. Bidwai, if the Congress were ideologically the same??? Or, are you accusing them all???
4.      The RSS and HMS played no role in the freedom movement Maybe, we need some history lessons from the secular ICHR, Mr. Bidwai??
5.      The Hindutva ideologues founded the Two-Nation theory Oh!!! STOP IT.
And, I am not even going to go into his logic on why BJP lost in J&K. Or how Punjab returned to normalcy (Remember KPS Gill, Mr. Bidwai??)

And let us look at his medicine for taking-on Hindutva:
1.      Congress should have exposed Hindutva as divisive And, Mr. Bidwai, should they do this while continuing to divide the Hindus on caste lines?? The game that the congress leaders where playing in Gujarat and have been playing for the past 50 years???
2.      Congress should have a pro-active policy and talk about peoples security. Security of food, income, employment, gender, etc. Do we need to remind you, Mr. Bidwai, that the congress has not been able to do anything in the past 50 years for alleviating any of this. And its molly-coddling on the Pakistan and the J&K front is what has got us into this mess.
3.      We should engage in a dialogue with Pakistan. And correct the wrongs done by the BJP in spending on the 10 month border mobilisation, decreasing Paki travel, etc. Mr. Bidwai, are you aware that, but for the force mobilisation, we would have been totally run-over by the US on all regional SA decisions. And we should allow Pakis to travel and interact with Indians culturally, socially and in sports as they keep massacaring other Indians at the border and in J&K. Isnt that what we have been doing for the past 20-odd years?? Has it helped??

And of course, the grand finale. The congress will need external intellectual & ideological help. Why, they bereft of it, Mr. Bidwai??? Left-Liberal political leaders. And thinkers, Mr. Bidwai?? You one of them???

It is true that if Hindutva means hitting at the fellow human because of his religion, we should abhor it. But if Hindutva means being proud of ones religion and not being afraid to say it then I dont see any reason for branding it communal.

It is not the fault of a Hindu that he was born in a nation which has an 80% Hindu majority. The Hindus in our country have long been fearful of coming out and proclaiming their pride in being a Hindu, thanks to the pseudo-secularists who are quick to brand such proclamations communal.. The Bidwai brigade and the likes have been burdening this poor Hindu with guilt (of hurting feelings and communalism) whenever he has asserted his Hinduism.

The BJP and the Hindutva Brigade have helped this Hindu assert himself. And there can be nothing wrong in this.
