Of late we have been reading and hearing a lot about SARS. Why don't the agencies publish details about the symptoms of SARS, which way the viruses communicate and what are the precautions that one need to take (other than ofcourse visiting China) etc.
Only fear pshyco is being played out and the media is working as if it is reporting a live coverage of a cricket match without any true intention of educating the public about the details of SARS and how to prevent it.
Its time that leading portals like REdiff take a lead on this.
This is what scares me to hell...There could be outbreak in India..But officials will try to cover it. All the efforts will be diverted towards hiding the incident itself rather than making people aware of the real situation and make them understand how important it is for them to take precautions... No one would share information-- "the biggest show stopper in being able to use the best possiible treatment options found until then".
