More small neighbourhood libraries are required in our country to facilitate the learning process. It is a fact that total literacy was achieved in Kerala with the help of these neighbourhood libraries which became a beacon for the neo literates to brush up their newly learnt literary skills. We need to duplicate the Pratham model more vigorously all over India. I am a university teacher and have started a small neighbourhood library in Jaipur, where literacy figures are low. anyone willing to give some useful suggestions is welcome at dattaslibrary@yahoo.com
It's high time we moved from the state of the art to the state of the poor. Remarkable that people are wakening up to the appalling social distance between the haves and the have nots. I hope our country will not only become a model techno society, but an outsatnding example of how to conquer poverty and illiteracy.
Keep it up the spirit and spread the Always Right Message.Come up with Good Stratigies and Just do it and go ahead with the Entire Team for building the Educated Society in true SENSE. Keep it up PRATHAM.
I'm sure there are a lot of people who'd be willing to provide help(monetary/otherwise). A contact address for the organization along with the article would help.
