Short, both in length and vision

First of all, surprised at the short (on words and meandering thoughts) post.
And to no surprise, a myopic opinion. IMO, ToH was a bad film, and southern films have always had takers, just that now it has overtaken Bollywood by leaps and bounds.
In 2032, we might well be flocking to see RRR-3 and Return to KGF or even a Son of Pushpa in theaters.
And there's a good chance that some OTT biggie will soon transplant Kumbalangi into the Indian heartland.

You try to sould like you are thinking of the greatness of Indian Cinema but alas... You forgot one thing...

The art has no value if it does not appeal to the masses... Thugs of Hindostan was not rooted as it had eloberate sets and action set pieces but did not have a basic story line... nor was there conviction in perfornamces....

You speak of movies which will be praised many years later..but what use will they be to the producers and distrubutors if they fail to draw crowds today... they speak of cinema way ahead of its time... but thats just a veil to cover bad cinema... anything which is not relevant to the audience is not a great movie... as simple as that..
