I am also a cancer surviving Person ! Eleven Months back, my BOTH vocal cords removed ! For Six months, I had not spoken a single Word ! Then started talking with Electro Larynx which sounds like a Robot ! Now speech therapy going on @ Prince Aly Khan Hospital ( Byculla ) where I am Learning Esophageal speech. So started talking naturally even without vocal cords ! Its Natural Speech ! Family was under impression that I cannot speak for Life time. But Bhagwan is great !! He gave me my voice back after Eighth months ! Of course, I cannot speak loud or sometimes Clarity is not there - hence I have to Repeat the words !! Its a Miracle by Science & Technology that a person can speak even without vocal cords ! At speech therapy session, the person who teaches have undergone same type of surgery & now withot vocal cords since 23 years ! He & Other ( who also have removed their vocal cords ) teaches the Esophageal speech ! People like us have to Think Positive & to lead a NORMAL life !! Then No Obstacle can stop us from living a normal Life !!!!
