Cell Phone towers and High frequency radio waves
by Manian on Nov 30, 2018 05:08 AM

The author is selfish and as long as there is a possibility that High Frequency radio waves are harmful to living things it should not be allowed or awareness should be spread about the possible danger. In South Korea, in a semi-conductor industry many workers died of cancer and the company initially refused to accept that it is because of the manufacturing but couple of days back besides financially supporting the family they have tendered unconditional apology to the family. All electronic goods which interacts with Radio waves are dangerous. Since in India human life has little value all these people are taking people for a ride. Similarly is the cheap Chinese phone which does not comply with the required norms of safety but are freely sold in India. We have many many heartless, self centered and greedy people who are not concerned about the life of innocent people.

Cellphone towers
by Manohar Rao on Nov 29, 2018 06:25 AM  | Hide replies

It is an established fact that cellphone towers are harmful to human beings, animals, birds and even environment.
It is also an established fact that the modern society cannot live without their cell phones.
Hence this complaint of COAI is baseless. They should not stall the release of the film.

hype , fear mongering is bad.

Nobody sits besides tower emitter. As the distance increases the waves lose energy.

even below the tower its too weak to damage an individual .

The phones you use to speak and keep close to your head can cause more stronger waves than those emitted by towers

But most present phones have 90% lower emission than earlier models

movies that exaggerate only create hype and paranoia among ignorant, semi-literates like you

The people who create this fear must be prepared to give up their cell phones, will they?

Scientific Research: Living Close to a Cell Tower a Likely Cancer
by sean dsouza on Nov 28, 2018 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

Many people seem to not worry about living or working in close proximity to cell towers and antennas. However, German and Israeli research to date gives cause for concern.

In a German study, doctors examined close to 1000 patients to see if living at the same address close to a cell tower for 10 years affected cancer risk. The social and age differences within the study group were small, with no ethnic diversity.

They discovered that the proportion of newly developed cancer cases was three times higher for those living within 1300 feet (a quarter of a mile) of a cellular transmitter compared to those living further away. In addition, they found that the patients became ill with cancer on average 8 years earlier.

A distance of 1300 feet (400m) is of particular importance. This is because computer simulation and measurements used in the study indicated that the radiation at that distance or less (the “inner area”) is 100 times greater than emissions beyond that distance (the “outer area”).

Another important observation from the research is that for the first 5 years of living near a cell phone tower, the risks were no different than someone living far away from one. However, in years 6-10, the cancer risks jumped more than threefold for those living a quarter of a mile or less from a mobile tower. Even more concerning, the average age of diagnosis was much younger. Risk for breast cancer, prostate, pancreas, bowel, melanoma, lung, and blood cancer al

There could be other causes too.

solution is lower power transmitters.

Not paranoia

Hurting this sentiment, hurting that sentiment
by Chaitanya B on Nov 28, 2018 03:22 PM

We have some funny laws.

Laws against "hurting the religious sentiments".

I wonder who first used that phrase in the first place - "hurting religious sentiments". I'm sure neither that person nor anyone else has ever bothered to define what it means.

What is a religious sentiment?

How can it get hurt?

Why should that be a punishable offence?

Weird.

Now, I think this movie has hurt the "telecom operators' sentiments".

Bizarre.
