It is a shame that despite having a rich culture / history and literature writers and directors prefer to take shortcuts and borrow ideas from crime thrillers from US and Mexico and elsewhere and set them in India. This series is poorman's wasseypur. The writers and directors think showing characters using abusive language / showing female protagonist mastur bating in library / having sax with household servant / mothers condoning her sons taking up guns and almost every character not having any moral compass is showing reality of Uttar Pradesh. Amazon and Netflix will help jobless or underpaid actors to get work in such artless projects. It is a shame that Excel Entertainment produced such tasteless series where father in law has sax with daughter in law at gunpoint and the scene that follows after that is so sickening that I don't want to even mention it here. I would request writers and directors to use Amazon and Netflix platform to have series based on literature with some story and real characters. Please get out of Anurag Kashyap zone and stop trying to shock and awe viewers as it only ends up disgusting them.
Just completed all the episodes. Well directed and well acted web series. But is it really necessary to show so much of violence? Just look at the characters of Munna and Guddu. Not even 1% of humanity. They can kill anybody for any reason in any ways.
They all are brilliant and I understood that after watching the first scene itself. Cinematography deserves all the praise in the world. However after watching a full page advertisement in the morning and then the series later in the day, it was clear that the talent does not have the sense to not glorify crime to this extent. Whatever may be the reality of that belt in UP, your characters are written to be heroes and that is where the problem lies. Please don't glorify dogs
