Kshamaya Daniel- Why speak with half knowledge?
by Anup S on Jul 24, 2018 01:09 PM

There is a reason people comparing dhadak with sairat are criticising it. Even without comparing cinematically also, it cannot stand on its own as its employs the same old 90s tropes. At least have references of source material which you are criticising.

Jayaprakash Balan
Even wine has to be made in originality
by Jayaprakash Balan on Jul 24, 2018 10:58 AM

Right, though Dhadak is not a scotch and cannot be a scotch like Sairat, atleast it has to be close to wine. You can't make a colour water and put it in wine bottle and ask people to drink thinking it is wine. First and foremost if a movie is supported by Karan Johar, one cannot expect it to be a cinematic beauty or art because he is a business and glamour crazy guy more than a true film maker. One cannot expect him to make a social subject movie in realism and social subject movies cannot become good if it shown thro' the glamour of colour and grandeur. Dhadak may be a well made movie, but the sheer making of such a fun loving song like Zingat in such grandeur without any sense of realism itself has spoiled the beauty of the film. Nobody wanted or expected Dhadak to be like Sairat, but atleast they should have made it closer to realism. And definitely its hopeless and senseless of Bollywood and media persons to go gaga over Jhanvi or Ishaan and make them a star just because they are from film industry. Its stupidness that Bollywood audiences doesn't understand this because neither is Jhanvi or Ishaan a star material nor they have grace or style. Would Karan Johar have sponsored a good talented kids from anywhere in India. Thats why its true that nepotism exists because everything happens inside Bollywood family. None of Karan Johar's movies are rooted to Indian roots. He fools the audiences by using Indian culture and life and mixing it with ultra luxurious life.

saturation of theme on honor killing is good and actors have justified with roles but in the last throwing of hero in child out of window for murder and end. this shows the prople can go scott free after murder. shame on censor board wfo permitted release with such horrifying end that will only provoke criminal mentality only.

don't miss 'Sairat'
by s g on Jul 23, 2018 04:56 PM

Dear Mr. Daniel,
I completely agree with your take on the movie, everything accepted, but please don't decide to not watch the Marathi original. I urge you to do it, I've watched it a couple of weeks ago and instantaneously written-off to watch Dhadak (even without watching it). But, I'm going to watch it, sooner or later. If you miss Sairat, you'll miss everything Dhadak did not / could not stir within you. Good Luck !
