"In 1975 INC Govt had banned film Anndhi just because the dress and manners of the character portrayed by Suchitra Sen had resemblance to that of Indira Gandhi. Why is it now opposing ban on Padmavat (i)."
Padmini is one who is held in highest regards by crores of Indian as an embodiment of ultimate sacrifice to protect her honor against the invader Khilzi. Freedom of expression also has the limitation of not hurting feelings of the masses. Otherwise there will be chaos if others also take sentiment of some other community for granted. It was Ok till D co ruled Bollywood but those days are now gone.
True law and order is the job of the government but then you should also respect the feeling of vast majoprity.
Best course now is to totally boycott the film by those who feel strongly about it. Commercial failure is the most effective way of delivering message to not only Bhansali but to all those who think that they can make big bucks by making such films.
Don't violate any law . No bqn no problem. Just ensure total boycott of the film.

Mr Dadhich! Your quote of Anndhi and this Padmavat (i) stand did-similar even as banning of a creative energy in the two cases hold identical aftermath fro the objective and/ or subjective set of minds. Your advocacy of boycott do not merit as well. Better our audacity do not stand in the lives of our future generation!!

Why do you expect our PM to react & give opinion on each and every subject.Unlike big mouth,he has number of things to do.
In fact Rediff has the same habit of expectation

Silent?
by vidwan soni on Jan 22, 2018 09:11 PM

He remains silent on everything done wrong by his RSS comrades. Where is his comment when an unwise junior minister of HRD speaks in a Vegantic sammelan that Darwin's theory should be removed from school textbooks as it does not support erroneous Hindu mythology ? Ge will never speak as he is also RSS!!

Not proper of Rediff NEWS in making such foolish Comment on PM
by Satyanarayana Manne on Jan 22, 2018 08:37 PM

t is not correct to Comment on PM as 'Why is the PM silent on Padmaavat?'. It is for the Film Sensor Board. The People who are making Agitations and banning the Film by State Govts. is not Correct. If any objection is there they have to approach the court of LAW and should not make Agitations and it is also not correct on the Part of State Govts. imposing ban on yielding the Agitations of a Particular Group / Section of People. In such be the cse what is purpose of Film Sensor Boards. It becomes a Practice of some culprits to blackmail the Producers for their self ends.If those people are having objections on the Film, they should not go to the see the Film and ultimately the Producer will put into loss and Producers will not go for such Film Productions.Concerned Film sensor Board and State Govts. should put an end in banning the Film. Hence Honourable Prime Minister of India is no way concerned on the Agitations made by a Group of Persons as opined by Rediff NEWS TEAM.!
