It is really wonderful donations to Keralities who are suffering immensely, which is the need of the hour. Further media is also helping in the cause. But the sad part is there is absolutely no mention about Coorg which is in Karnataka neighbouring to Lerala, which is also equally suffered from the very same calamity. Hope Coorg also receives some amount of sympathy, let alone donations. Coorg has given us General Cariappa and General Thimmiah among thousands to serve as soilders.

We should also ask how much Kerala rooted business houses like LuLu group head, MRF, Muthoot, Joy Alukkas, Kalyan etc have contributed, instead of going after Ambanis who have an established social support org being looked after by Nita Madam
UAE government announced financial assistance of Rs 700 Crores. Govt of India to one of its own state Kerala just 500 Crore, plus 100 crore announced by our Home Minister. All are mocking at me being a BJP supporter. Whats going to be your strategic plan. I expected you will suprize this time. Again I lost hope

Though what it is said is correct the govt should bear in mind that Kerala has been a more revenue earning state, especially in service sector and in turn gets from GOI 43% of their revenue only every year. Naturally this year as well subsequent 2/3 years their GDP would affect causing lesser revenue to Centre.
There are some more donated - among Tamil film stars Rajni Kanth 15 lakhs, Actor Vikram 35 lakhs and some others in Groups/Associations in film field. IT IS HIGHLY APPRECIABLE TO PRABHAS.
All the 29 district authorities in TN have contributed - by hundreds of lorry loads the requisite for immediate requirement.
Many Tamil News Channels, Print Media (daily & weekly) - in addition to their contributions, collecting moneys and the requisites for supply.
Many reputed Industrial Units in TN contributed and also various religious groups, NGOs etc

Awesome. This is how the Southern states can support each other & form a confederation to ensure that the Center is kept at bay & don't dictate to the states. The States should also get to keep a certain percentage of taxes which they collect rather than pouring out everything into the central coffers. GST actually harms federalism as it is a central controlled tax & based on the need of the state some handouts are given.

Contributions are really pouring in. Even the Paramilitary forces CRPF/BSF Wives Association flagged of 20 trucks of relief material to Kerala. Now the State Govt should properly organize the distribution of relief material and secondly, the bigger job of repair and reconstruction flood damaged buildings, bridges etc.
