It seems that Rediff posts positive review only for the movies of Khans...!! It is really a nice movie. Don't Listen to these paid journos...Simply go, watch and enjoy the movie.
What a beautiful movie. I agree the character of tappen is quite exaggerated, but the story line is cool, one cannot expect it to fulfill dreams of everyone. I am sure the writer expected more.

In one way superstars of Bollywood are safe for another 10 years as any film of theirs are lapped up by the Bollywood audience. So, Gold is definitely another 100 crore movie and so Akshay maintains the credit of having the maximum 100 crore movie consecutively beating the Khans. Definitely, its nice to see atleast one top star moving away from mindless action to good content and social topics movies which is good and more great is that audience is accepting and lapping up the movies for a 100 crore collection. The only issue with audience in Bollywood is that they accept only top stars and don't make good actors movies also a hit with 100 crore. This is a big drawback as compared to South Indian audiences where content, story, direction is more important than just stars. Could be probably due to the sensibilities and literacy.
How could this reviewer is giving negative feedback of the movie which is really nice and I saw it was house full in first day first show. I have seen the biased review's so many times. I have seen rediff reviewer's gave positive feedback on the movie's of Khan's, which was not a worth watching.

sukanya verma .. have you appointed some one to watch movies and update ... please check those people are sincere with you .. or you hate few heros and review goes as per that ... anyways next time if its review ..i will check from whom .... gold is a good movie with 4/5 rating ...
