I dont understand what the author or editor of this article is trying to prove other than the usual things. This is a useless article just to grab public attention.
Every thing is fine in Indian Films except Putting invariably Tilaks on Foreheads of Hindu Gunda Characters of Films to propagate a wrong message to masses since beginning.
How Bollywood treated Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Adivasis, Europeans, Americans, Pakistanis... Selection of the topic is really great! Maybe it is the need of the hour! Wondering when a writeup about How rediff treated Muslims, Christians, etc will appear. If you are not really thinking on Muslim/Christian/other religious lines, such articles will ensure that one starts thinking on religious lines. Good work by the author and rediff for initiating and sustaining the habit of looking at everything under the sun from religious lines and not as a society.

Oh really? We all know how fair you religious thugs are. May your tribe decrease. Aameen.
Stereotyping is one aspect but if you see most of these movies show Muslims as either religious or victim of circumstances, helpful, repentant, etc. Earlier it was with Christians where every villain who was a Christian was named Michael with a cross around his neck. Thankfully that is no longer seen nowadays. But we still have the Hindu villains unabashadely being shown sporting Tilak, rudrakh and saffron robes. Almost all movie industries are susceptible to stereotyping. Will broadly agree to the points made by Maqsood
