This "women" business is going out of proportions. All the film stars and high society ladies have celebrations every day even otherwise, because they have the means/money. There were times when a husband would fight till his death against 1 or more persons who tried to molest or sexually attack his wife, or sister or mother! No longer! That was the true test of society`s respect, honour and esteem for woman ! Women`s Days of today are and will remain more a show till the by-gone comprehensive social values are restored. Laws can help but justice - rather the PUNISHMENT for wrong doing - is denied because of delays.

I fully concur with ur views.But the world over everything seems to be biz and o/w show.
Every day is women's day in Bhaarat. For others "Women's day" come once in an year. "Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra Devata, yatraitaastu na pujyante sarvaastatrafalaah kriyaah". which means where Women are honored, happiness and divinity blossoms, and where women are dishonored, all actions remain unsuccessful is a clear message rather instruction from Manu. So in my Bhaarat everyday is Women's day. This planet has 50% women and remaining 50% is produced by Women.
