Inspiration from movies
by madmax on Jan 08, 2017 10:26 PM

Why do people get inspired with bad things shown in the movie?
Humans are so weak that their souls and minds are inspired by ill things shown in movies.
Don't blame movies because they also show good things to get inspired.

People do have double characters. It does't matter whether it is onscreen or off the screen. Those who criticize the actors also like his movies and watch these scenes thinking that it is onscreen drama until someone gets molested in real life. Actors acting such scenes and mouthing altogether different things on TV channels also depict their double characters and cannot get away by saying that it is only entertainment thing meant to be seen and forget. There are many leaders who mouth good words from high podium and behave entirely different on ground. People(Janta) do discuss about 'Desh ki haalat badi kharab ho gayi hai' in groups and when given chance, they vote shortsightedly. Actually, majority basic human tendency is 'being selfish', if given a chance but do not want to be called so in public, thus comes the double standard.
So those criticizing against or in favour, just make the right choice keeping contra views in onsideration to your own views as well, when given a chance.
We do not need to say 'Bharat Maata ki jai' to prove our patriotism. Each one of us just need do our work and do it well, be it police, educationist, politicians, officers, clerks, mothers, society, peons and whosoever it may be.

Akshay Kumar

I do not agree with the article. Just because he has performed an act in the movie with consenting adults, does not give others the right to objectify or molest women. I feel the article itself is not appropriate.

But the people do get motivated by watching such acts. A man may not have interacted much with other women(that lets him form perception with reality) definitely forms images based on whatever interaction he get his hands on. And many times it is entirely different from images he has of his mother & sisters at home. Performance in movies is a part of literary world which does have impact on society at large. Its also a mirror to society which at times depict wrong image and thus cannot be shrugged away by uttering simple words like 'Just because..' Also the mediocres will always outnumber intellectuals in a society who are difficult to make feel the difference between reality and drama.

What about SRK?
by manibala kumar on Jan 08, 2017 07:41 PM

What about SRK? In DDLJ, he is planning to elope with Kajol who is fixed for another man? In every SRK film, he is eloping or falls in love with a girl, who is proposed for another man? Mindless love stories of SRK. Why rediff is not pointing them?

My Point exactly!

Although it's true what the actors do is just acting, but never forget the fact that movies play a great role in every person's growing age whether they like it or not. Most of the tollywood movies show the hero in a very superior manner and if he likes the girl in the movie, he will get her by hook or crook. And they also make it look very acceptable which is utter rubbish. Same with bollywood movies. Since how many years is bollywood showing women in poor light? Movies show nothing but the mindset of a certain country. Eve teasing, slapping a woman if she is wrong, rapes, etc.,So when kids grow up watching these kind of movies, they mindsets get tuned that way. A woman has to be slapped or raped as a punishment if she has an opinion or does something wrong. Whereas, if you see hollywood movies, they do not have that concept at all! Every decision of a woman is respected. They do not show the hero stalking the heroine and torturing her till she says "Yes". They respect the woman's decision and just walk away. Bollywood heroes are very angry over the molestation incident, but they are responsible in a very large way for what is happening in our country right now because they are watched by kids, youngsters. This mindset is so rooted in our Indian system that I wonder if it's ever going to change.

Why only Akshay?
by Gerami Havewala on Jan 08, 2017 12:52 PM

This trend has been going on in Bollywood right from the 1950s onward.

Haven't the 'heroes' always harassed the 'heroines', repeatedly over and over again, until finally they give in and 'fall in love' with them?

...and haven't all of us, including women, appreciated that?
