The obvious postmodern disjuncture prompts an act of collocation which seeks to make local that which has been distanced. A very clever way to say it all as subtext. Otherwise in a overreactive nation which seeks historical confirmity to the details of each act, pubic tends to cry foul at the slightest use of imagination which is the core aspect of all art. I personally conceive totality as fraudulent. In fact the artistic construction has been a clever move which just posits rather than derive. Yet since poetic justice is catharitic for the audience, it was to some extent necessary to give the public the due for its money. After all it is commercial cinema :)
