"To me, freedom is the freedom to use my voice to influence mindsets and prejudices". These are the words uttered by Mr. Farhan Akthar.
O.K. Well and good.
But there is an utterance by a foreign scholar which goes like this:
I HAVE GOT EVERY FREEDOM TO WEILD MY WALKING STICK; TILL IT DOES NOT TOUCH THE OTHER MAN'S NOSE EITHER INTENTIONALLY OR UNINTENTIONALLY.
Our constitution also specifies like this: One has got freedom of expression; but no one has the right to afflict others feelings eithor directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly.
Every one has to remember this whenever they utter anything in public; especially those who dwell in popularity.
For every animal on this earth "Independence" is more valuable than its life. People and Animals can accept to eat only one time, but they prefer "Independence". Hence on this Independence Day take an Oath not to cage birds, in whole life.
Truly to say that independence is a state of mind for rich and successful people who have all resources with them and only need freedom to enjoy their lives with all available resources. Independence has lost luster, meaning and relevance for most of the deprived people of the country who are struggling for survival even after 70 years of independence. General people are not bothered whether it is a independence or republic day in the country. Their participation in these activities from the core of their heart is negligible. This (Independence day or republic day)celebrations have reduced as the functions of enjoyment for leaders, bureaucrats, officers, people and students (who are to participate in the event) and nothing for common people. Lack of education, jobs, security, day to day facilities of life, corruption, nepotism, inefficient system all around have made common public to think whether we are really independent and should celebrate independence. with
