Flashy lifestyle, but no contents. Lot of show and pomp. Rediff in public interest should not show such trivial things which is capable of corrupting youth who in search of lifestyle adopts wrong means and short cuts. Stop being influenced by such news.
It has become a fad among Indian heroines to go abroad and then get themselves photographed in near naked clothes, knowing fully well that some magazine or the other will publish these photos. In the bargain, it is free publicity for the heroine and added eyeballs for the magazine.
This is getting ridiculous with so many actresses adopting the same strategy for free coverage.

So what exactly is your point? The level of freedom that we girls from India(esp those with a love for fashion, like me and my friends) is much much higher than what we would get in India, what with all the stares and comments from all and sundy, esp those jobless guys and aunties who intend to offer well meaning 'advice' about dressing properly and marriage and what not. The laws are liberal, there is freedom of expression, and the total right to freedom to choose what one wants, be it clothes or studies or choices in the opposite gender. No one is judgemental and it is all so refreshing. And why does no one make noises when guys in India roam around half dressed in India, esp cities. Thank goodness the current MNC culture has exposed many like me to new avenues abroad, and we are gonna reap the benfits for sure!

Why are you feeling attacked gal? There are 2 types of women today 1) Who want to explore new avenues while still respecting their cultures and traditions 2) who want unlimited freedom to the point of selfishness and want that they should be pampered in whatever they do "in the name of women empowerment"

Feeling attacked? Well not quite! The mordern Indian gal respects her traditions as much as anyone, but the moment we slip into western wear, they are termed as near nked. The sheer hypocrisy of it! We wear these all the time abroad, and in places in India as well, were things are liberal, like an evening out at a resto or a pub or a disc. But again, Indian men are never questioned are they. They ape western wear all the time, even without being able to pull them off!
