He was advised a year ago not to drink, but he did not hear and that is the reason today he is no more. Huge loss for Malayalam cinema as there is no replacement for Mani.
Really he was great artist in South Indian cinema though he acted in around 200 films, he attained fame in his acting career as a hero in VLPN. His untimely death is a great loss for the Indian cinema, the departed soul may rest in peace.
