Fan gathers 85 crores is a flop and Sanam Re gathers 32 crores is a hit !! I am not Shahrukh fan but there should be some logic? Both are useless movies for sure though !!

logic is cost of film. Fan budget was 105 crores and returned on 81cr and hence lost 20 crores atleast. Sanam Re cost was 20 crores and return was 22 crores hence profit.

It is cost versus returns.A film is declared hit if its returns are more than the cost. Fan is a big budget film and its returns are pathetic hence it is a flop. Sanam Re is a small budget film and has not only recovered its cost, it has also earned a decent profit,hence it is a hit. Film making is pure commerce, they try to cash in the popularity of the star cast by investing heavily in the movie so at the end it is popularity versus earnings and naturally from commercial point of view earnings win over popularity.It is pure business man.
