Why have all the leading actresses , whether from Bollywood or from South, have given up on wearing Indian traditional dresses in any function of repute like that Filmfare or IIFA awards presentation ceremonies?? When the awards are being given away for performances in India cinema made in Indian languages, the least these ladies can do is come up in traditional Indian sarees , suits or lehengas to take up these coveted awards. Why do these ladies have to mark their appearances in thigh splitting and cleavage showing dresses to show they are modern and sophisticated ?

No one can refute the elegance , charm and beauty that is personified by some of the major actresses like Rekha, Hema Malini , Vidya Balan , who ensure that they appear in all leading presentations in some of their best silk sarees .Their sophistication and confidence that gets reflected out of our adorning our traditional dresses is definitely much better than some of these western dresses, which have been depicted in the photographs above.
These dresses would have been all right for a Cannes red carpet ceremony but for some function in Chennai or Mumbai, nothing can beat our traditional dresses.

Sure. But why do these rules need to apply to Indian women only. Why do women keep on getting advise on what to eat, what to wear, where to go or not go, what do do or not do. Your comments stinks of your regressive thinking.
