A stunner for those who appreciates good movies. Given the sad theme -greta treatment for a story difficult to tell !
The four actors should be given top credit for playing their roles so beautifully ! A special mention for Alia- given the bimbo image on the net- she proves that all that was jealous trolling !

Actually it deserves 4 Stars on a scale of 10 stars

Anurag Kashyap, Kekta Kapur and Abhishek Chaubey should be grateful to Pahlaj Nihalani for the hype and first day box office collections of the movie " Udta Punjab".
I fail to understand how this film is getting a four star rating on a five star scale! It has so many ups and downs, like a 0 star to 3 star that I can grudgingly accord a 2.5 star rating to it maximum, a 2.25 is more appropriate.
There are some very low quality shots, some amateur theatre-like shots and some out-rightly ridiculous shots. I saw people laughing at some serious moments, failure of the director galore. And the end is like "Sairat" (सैराट) or some Gulzar movie where the director does not find any appropriate end and to somehow end the story, kills the main character/s.

And on the cuss words, I don't think this issue needs even an iota of attention.
If you really want to know what is the hoopla about, watch it on TV - the perfectly legal way to watch it without losing any money. Wait for a month or so and it will be sold to STAR Movies for premier on air.

Interesting to see positive comments here, always my experience was that there was united voice against the writer and his analytical abilities.

I am getting a feeling that this is a good attempt against a social menace and every body supporting it, I must say that this unity will go long way in building great country.

Good luck and best wishes to the team of this movie and that going to come in future.

This is a brilliant movie , which brings to focus the drug menace in Punjab. People of India should come on same pedestal and work towards eliminating this menace from the society all together .If this does not happen , the coming generations of our country would be in danger .

as it is everyone wants to be rich and all these co called rich ,hate the common ppl and want them to die farmers die in large nos does anyone bother, food items get expensive who cares, there r scams everywhere and some politicians r always linked to it.recently a builder killed himself bsce politicians were not clearing his projects and anyone does his duty properly that person is also killed or transfered

Punjab is one of the strongest state of India. Jawan from Punjab are an assets to Indian Army, Police and many enforcement agencies. Agriculture Products are also superb besides hosiery, pickle industries etc. Unfortunately Punjab fell to prey to opiates since long .'Udata Punjab film could be 'wake up' call to the administration @ state and center level to control the drug menace in time.
