Unusual theme, of course! But time taken to establish the traits of each character is a tad too long. Too many incidents are confusing and difficult to keep track of- especially when the narrative is non-linear. The elderly head of the family giving his nod for the idol heist is far-fetched. There is little music and a lot of noise.
The film goes on and on testing the viewer\'s patience. Film technique has evolved over the years. The director using symbolism- like the convicts shirt on the clothesline slipping off to suggest his release from the prison are all too outdated as we have had an overdose of such narration in K.Balachander\'s films of the 60s & 70s. Better luck next time, Karthik
