first go and see this movie AIRLFT and than comment it has nothing to do with any religion its only about INDIAN stuck during the time of Kuwait war.. Making comment is very easy
To my information (from news papers and TV) only one Indian plane could land in KUWAIT under guidance of the then Foreign Minister Mr Gujral and he picked up some of his rich friends (mainly jewellers) along with their precious jewellery stores etc. Other Indians even though in constant touch with the Indian Embassy did not know about the evacuation. Others (who could dare) fled to the bordering countries with great difficulty and could some how reach India. Many such people were held up at Afganistan border out of whom the Keralites were picked up by the Keral Govt. Hundreded remained stuck up in Kuwait without food and necessities of daily life for long under the threat of bombing and Iraqi forces . My own sister (a doctor/ professor in the Kuwait University) remained held up there for 4 months without any communication with us. Ultimately she & others formed a group, hired a taxi at hefty charges and slipped into Iraq border after bribing the authorities and from there they boarded an Iraqi plane for New Delhi. We have no knowledge that 1,70,000 Indians were evacuated by the Govt.
What a joke. It was all over the newspapers. I don't know why the he11 Akshay is lying that there was only 1 article and it was kept a secret. Maybe to promote his film. Nimrat was probably still in her diapers in 1990 - if she was even born, that is. How would she know there were only 2-3 articles about the airlift?
I clearly remember it because I was tracking the war very closely. Cable TV had just started expanding in India then and CNN was showing live telecast of laser bombs being dropped. Airlift of Indians was very well known.
