CENSOR

Mr Benegal, You cannot compare the film making with votes. Today the people are more attracted to news about the celebs in the reels rather than of government heels.Anything in the movies become the style factor, the \"standard\" factor among the audiences. How can you stop people from attaining this \"film moksha\". After all people are today crying out loud for the various crimes being committed basically on women. The sex scenes or any violent scenes are after all the fuel to burning desire in any man. Most may control and some may not. We should not worry of all the audiences, but should be worried of these \"some\" who cause heinous problems in the society.(In fact these \"some\" are now on exponential increase). Filmmakers, you know want more money by using all kinds of possible opportunities like introducing porn actress in movies, showing methods of assault, encouraging gang culture, etc. But society needs to be kept clean by cleaning such mind affecting elements in film. Censor board needs to do their jobs and they need to do it considering all the factions of society. I observe that the movies which do well do not require such nudity, violence etc. These things are required for the weak movies with weak film makers. These weaklings cause problems in society and they need to be curbed by censor-board. If the society has to decide on what movies to watch then why cant the porn movies be released on big screens? I

Censorship in India

I endorse his view. In a diverse society as in India, where caste, creed and religions are multiple and complex, opinions are also bound to be diverse. To top it all, politicians do not show maturity but capitalize on issues beneficial to their vote banks.
Every issue/film is bound to be exploited to its advantage/disadvantage by the politician.
What can the Censor Board do for this? Kissing was divided into issues, a long kiss & a short. Perverse and relative morality always wins. Can the Censor Board stop illegal screening of this kiss? No. Then what is the use of censorship when every action of the Board is to be disputed?
Religious sentiments are easily hurt. Where is the tolerance to a view expressed in a film? But the same individuals club together to demonstrate against intolerance.
We Indians thrive on controversies. One statement by a noted individual is enough to spark a controversy. This is then linked to a debate of tolerance/intolerance. There is a tirade against free speech because it is not my view.
How will the Censor Board withstand this? It is better we do not have a Censor Board. Let people have a choice of their own, which they do enjoy illicitly.

Mr NG Nileshwar, you are a fool. By your logic, since the society is already spoiled, your daughter should freak around and get unchaste and there is no need for you to advise her and censor her actions. Because per your logic, your advise is of no use to her anyway!
As a parent you would certainly want to check your daughter's actions, and same applies to the censor board as well

Sorry Mr Benegal. I am one of your fans. Indian viewers ate too immature to enjoy this freedom. Even you have witnessed the change in liking of Indian viewers. Look at the rape seen of Ankur and rape seen filmed by Manojkumar in his so called films. See the impact which you could create and the same created by Manojkumar and others. Public wants to see nudity. Make a blue film, and I guarantee it will be greatest success in history.
Indians are fools, they never foresee their long term objectives.
More precisely, we are like this because of our own people, we have many Jaichands.
We failed to recognize our own good people, and praised bad persons like David Dhawan and Dada Kondke.
Sorry My dear Benegal, I respect you for making historic films in India.

Why film industry is so desperate over nudity
by vishal verma on Jan 04, 2016 09:48 PM  | Hide replies

The moot point is - Why film industry is so desperate over nudity?
Why there is no desperation over quality like in the 70s?
Film industry today has totally lost focus and just wants to sell brazen nudity in one form or the other, and thats it!

they are totally focused on business and NIL censor will smoother the path and these people are in total pact and we common man will think which might had triggered the harassment in women, in my opinion we should increase the degree of censorship rather for comfortable viewing.

They don't think they have any responsibility towards society. If censor permits they won't mind showing 3X pornographic films. I attribute the nudity and exceptionally hot scenes for the crime against women. What is utmost for them is money by any means.

The efficacy of scissoring of controversial part or even love making scenes from films is of no use in these present days when there are porn cd\'s are available in the open market to even persons who aren\'t matured.
