When will Mianbhais learn?
by Vijay Sahani on Dec 08, 2016 10:31 AM  | Hide replies

Why is he called Mianbhai?
Why does he deal in alcohol?
Why this? Why that?

Stop cribing. It's just a movie not an organized attack on your religion.

If you don't like it, too bad. Don't watch the movie. Period.

Thanks for "reviewing" the trailor (from the point of view of a mianbhai) but i would rather prefer to read "review" of the movie.

India has a large population of uneducated Muslims who are influenced by movies. India is not exactly California in terms of social harmony

So you or Syed Ashraf Firdaus will decide what is appropriate and what not?

There is no end to this "offence" people take when it comes to religion. California or India. Let people decide what is good for them. Not you or me.

Either you believe in the principle of "free speech and expression" or you don't. Everything else is just for convenience which is nothing but hypocrisy.

Interesting....

...that you have not called out the stereotyping in the first half of the punch line, or should a person from that caste take offense and write that column? Are you against stereotyping in general or just against a particular religion? If the latter is the case, then there lies the problem. And we couldn't care less because communities have been stereotyped by bollywood (offensively sometimes - ask any south indian) since long and nobody has a problem with that, why now?

Good Post from you Firdaus
by vishal mehta on Dec 08, 2016 09:09 AM

I agree, few incidents in the world which has affected every individual irrespective of their religion get the bad name due to few individuals (they fail to be called Human in first place and such people have no religion) and by showing them on the screen this way they are testifying it which is injustice to entire community as a whole. Wish people bring news, cinema, articles which spread unity, hope, love but hatred and glorifying ill.

Big Problem
by Surendran on Dec 08, 2016 09:08 AM  | Hide replies

in India is that everyone searchs for what is offensive., I am not an SRK fan but I like to watch movies...What dialogues do u expect a movie of Abdul latif to have...Quotes from Omar Khayyam??? Take a chill pill. If you are offended dont watch the movie but try to stop creating a divide and crying hoarse everytime you find something that doesnot suit you. Mind it ..the guy wo made the movie (Farhamn Akhtar) and the guy who stars (SRK) are both from your community. What is that something special you have which they dont have?? RAdicalism???
