After reading Raja Sen's review and then watching , FAN , I had a veritable epiphany- a nugget of an insight. Initially, I had difficulty empathising with Gaurav's character, given his psychotic obsession. But then he has a certain endearing honesty; at least he did not have delusions of being an objective film critic.
I just take out 25% for any movie rated in percentage and see whether it stands above 60% or not and then see the movie trailer once or twice and see the negative comments first then positive and at last check my purse if I can afford it or not! by that time i do all this, the movie would have been off the screens and feel very sorry about it and continue seeing the reviews, especially that of Raja Sen's...
Have been a regular follower of your Reviews and almost 98% of them are wrong according to me. But, this is one review which stands quite right.
Loved SRK playing Gaurav, loved the Delhi stuff and also loved the fact that this was a more realistic movie. And of course, the Makeup guys do needed a mention for their work - unless you knew it, it would be difficult to believe that Gaurav was played by SRK himself and not his look alike.
Intense movie but then, at times, real life is intense.
