It is not only SJ, for me every one including great acting skill of Sanjeev kumar , AB, Darma, Hema Malini, Amjad to kalia, samba.. what not.

Salim javed as writers , subhash ghai as director with naseeruddinn shah , irfan khan and nawazuddin playing gangsters . Something like that will blow the box office

Most of the script which SJ wrote were inspired ones. How many originals have they written.

I think Sachin Bowmik and other writers were more successful then the duo.

SJ's script required strong actors to carry off the hyped persona of the main protagonist and AB suited the most.

they were stars in 70s and early 80s.
for me I am extremely privilaged to have seen the prime of SJ,RS(ramesh sippy) and RD(burman)
