People,Raja Sen is not here to tell you what you wish to hear..

For those who believe that all Mr. Raja Sen does is stitch a set of complex words together, I request you to please try composing 1000-word pieces with the only intention of showing off your vocabulary - and then further try doing it week after week. Had read another comment on another movie, by another reviewer - the kind of sitting-on-the-fence review where all the reviewer did was write a 600 word post with 500 words dedicated to explaining the plot and suddenly end the review by saying ‘SSSSSSS is an excellent movie’ - asking Mr. Sen to learn how a ‘simple review’ must be composed.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Sen need not write a simple review, just so that you can comprehend it better. Mr. Sen need not do it, because he cares about the movies. And when a critic cares about the movies, he doesn’t just stop at telling you if a movie must be watched this very weekend or skipped. That’s not the function of a movie critic; you have the trade analysts-masquerading as-film critics for that very purpose.

A film, we must all remember is also something that works people up, churns up their emotions and in the case of the finest movies something that affects them sensually. A movie critic must be someone who feels all those emotions in its purest form and verbalize ‘subjectively’ what he feels, often reasoning out his emotions with himself. And because the sensations that a movie supplies (good movies esp) is not such a simple thing, a good piece of movie criticism will often be little more complex that your regular ‘How to Apply this Hair Dye’-kind of story.

To try bashing Raja Sen, and especially bash him by pointing out to inferior pieces as an example to follow, shows how simple-minded we are becoming as a movie-watching audience. Disagree with him as much as you want to, but don’t point out to a craft of the substandard variety as something Mr. Sen should try routing himself to. Those kinds of comments, says more about you than him.

Spectre is Spectacular
by Debabrata Ghosh on Nov 23, 2015 01:49 PM

A quote from #Ratatouille \"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read\". Sums up the negative criticism of #Spectre. For BOND FANs like us who wait year & year for a 007 movie, its entertaining to the end and we don\'t mind sitting for another 20/30mnts. Loved it.

Spectre is spectacular. It is a typical bond film with all the ingredients that good bond films need. There is a good dose of thrill, action, Ashton Martin car chase sequence and of course the Omega watch. I agree that the film could have been a little shorter, but make no mistake this is a good movie. I highly recommend it to all Bond lovers. My name is Vora - Mehul Vora.

It's ridiculous and inexplicable how our censor board permits the films like Hate Story-3 which bares all freely, but cuts the kissing scenes length in James Bond film.

Isn't that our typical Indian hypocrisy & double standard attitude ?

What is the Difference?
by Sivakumar Narayanalal on Nov 20, 2015 10:59 AM  | Hide replies

What difference is it going to make if the KISS is long or short?
A KISS is a KISS...if the board does not want to show that scene...just cut it or else keep the scene as it is..

The makers want a U/A rating. They can keep the full kiss and get an A rating.

U/A rating is meant for 12 yrs. While 12yr olds know what a kiss is, they don't know what full-fledged passionate s** is. So, my making it a simple kiss this movie becomes watchable by kids also.

The film makers could have put the full kiss and gone for an A rating. Nobody stopped them from doing that.

A kiss is a natural element. It is this conservative nature of some people like you the natural things are getting unnatural and vulgar and as a result kids are inclining towards getting that information from the internet and getting spoiled in a totally different way. So the choice is upto you, whether you see a kiss as a natural element of love and affection or you see it as vulgar and want to cover your eyes. If you belong in the latter brigade, Grow up. Want to stop kids from watching porn, explain the things properly to them in an appropriate way and why as kids they should not watch adult movies. No films are censored today, because you can hide it in the theatre, however the same people will download the film and watch the full version. So grow up.
