Many of the malayalam films I have seen, enjoyed and admired are having few english dialogues made by comedians like Sri.Jagathy,Sri.Haneefa,Sri.Salim Kumar,Sri.Mala Aravindan etc...which creates peels of laughter in the theatre which proves that the audience enjoy the films.Why make this an issue?Just enjoy after all its a foreign language.You need not be so fluent and adept in that.
As one who watched the interview with the star couple on television, I would say that his wife was not searching for a south Indian actor who could speak in English. The fact is that she blurted out "tell me the name of one person from South India (may be film industry), who can speak so fluently in English".
