The law perhaps have prevented a philanthropic person like Salman from giving money to the victims or their families. Otherwise, guilty or not, Salman would have provided them with financial support.
As per news in HT, he did not run away. He was being beaten up by several people and was then rescued by someone knowing him and was sent away in a taxi. His rescuer did not get any smell of alcohol from him. Wonder how the blood test conducted much later was even considered in the trial.

HajiMastaBawa, Veerappan, Dawood, had they done any kind of service towards society? Had they helped children with diability ? Had they helped old people who are thrown out of home by their children? You are comparing those underworld dons with Salman because of an accident ???? This shows the level of immaturity you have and how poisonous your mind is.

Glorification of a criminal even if he has done some good work is obnoxious and condemnable

U r absolutely right. Law should be equal for everybody.
It is very good that the judge is even taking action against Salman's driver for claiming he was driving, he will be prosecuted for perjury - lying in court.
But if law is equal for all, why is there no action against HRD minister Smriti Irani who has twice lied in affidavits about her educational qualification twice - Is that not an offence?

whether he does it intentionally or not, the act is criminal and he should get ten years not five years of jail. If three years is the norm as some supporters of Salman have argued, why does the provision in law state ten years? HAS OUR hONBLE sc STATED ANYWHERE THAT EVEN THO LAW PRESCRIBES TEN YEARS MAXIMUM, IT SHOULD NOT BE AWARDED, SPECIALLY TO PEOPLE OF SALMAN STATUS?
