Real good movies of yesteryears
by Jayaprakash Balan on Jun 12, 2015 03:51 PM

Though people have made Amitabh the top star due to his angry young man role and action movies, it is the real small gems like Saudagar in which Amitabh is really able to show himself as an actor. The movie was a flop due to the slow pace and may be Amitabh-Nutan chemistry was not liked, nevertheless one can see the sincerity and commitments of each and every person associated with this movie to give the audience something good to know and appreciate like the art and lives of people making jaggery as well the simple and struggling and content/happy life of village people.

Often get this on Zee classic and don't miss the movie till climax. One of the best of AB.

I suggest you watch it now. You will really like it after 20 years. I watched it too 20 years back when I was a school going kid. I found it boring. But when I watch it again in my mid thirtees I foundd it awesome, so simple yet thought provokating. you will enjoy when you value the smaller and simple things of life which comes with maturity.

I like the simplicity of the film whereas it was such a boring movie for us 25 years back.
