I think Sushant Rajput is a bit over-rated actor, he doesn't fit the big screen well, he reminds me of Vivek Oberoi, when Vivek Oberoi came in the industry, all the media was crazy for him saying a new superstar is in the making. But the bubble burst very fast and it was clear that he had very limited abilities. May be Rajput looks fit on small television. If anybody has seen the old Byomkesh Bakshi serial on national television ( about 20 years ago)they will agree that acting of Rajat Kapoor as Byomkesh was superb. He looked very smart, his typical smile and dialogue delivery style was excellent and serial was also very intriguing, good stories and very logical reasoning behind each story something like Sherlock Homes stories and not like todays detective serials which are more of show-off kind rather than focussing on the actual content.
Byomkesh Bakshi collapsed because Sushant Rajput was not a good fit with the Byomkesh Bakshi. The film was superb with its story, music, depiction of Kolkata except Sushant rajput. he hardly looked Byomkesh, he couldnt puff cigarrette in Byomkesh style and looked out of way in dhoti. His side-kick Ajit was far better.
I know Raja sen finds difficult to understand a logical movie or someone keep away his chocolate/lollipops/biscuits from him.. If he was crying for eatable stuff it doesn't mean movie was bad. Can rediff make him show this movie again with his eatable stuff and ask him to re-write this article ?.
