Nana's role in Bommalaattam (Puppetry) is an outstanding film in which Nana played a pivotal role. The movie is well acclaimed and is considered as an example of how a taut screenplay and casting should be. This movie is included as part of the syllabus for Directors and Scriptwriters in various film institutes. Nana transcends barriers of language.
Though choice of any actor's movie may vary from person to person, Apaharan and Prahar should get place in any list. Prahar was, as I remember, also directed by Nana, and was praised as zero Directorial defects, by critics at that time !!

"Tirangaa" was a childish movie in this comparison. "Shagird" is strongly recommended, for those who have not seen it yet.
