Movies are fictional... A writer may use any fictional name or city in a movie... the censor board has gone mad...

Ridiculous!
by Sudarsan on Feb 05, 2015 01:46 AM  | Hide replies

Nonsense. Tamil filmmakers and our censor board are far more liberal. Last year, we had a movie called "Madras" (a contemporary film) that released without any issues. This even though it was renamed to Chennai long ago. You might change a city's name officially to something, but who are you to stop people from referring to a city by any name that they want?

at least read what you are writing before you post?

what if your friends start calling you Pradarshan from tomorrow just because they want to?

why do we have names than for anything?

wow! and talk of liberal? not saying anything...

The difference here is that his name wasn't Pradarshan at any given point in time, but Chennai & Mumbai were called Madras & Bombay for 100s of years!!
