A casual labour living in a slum close to my locality fell down from his cycle while returning from his day's work.
He was hit by a scooterist who didn't even stop.
There is no news about him on rediff despite the fact that he was hit because of someone else's fault. And here we see so much space wasted on a rich man who not only hurt himself due to his own negligence but also endangered the lives of others like that slum dweller.

Cynic, What you say doesn't make sense! How do you know RajKumar Hirani endangered other people's lives? There was no mention of that anywhere. The casual labor that you talk of, that fell, may have made been part of some news as well. If he didn't make, then, maybe, the newspapers/media wasn't made aware of that, who knows! In any case, yes, if a famous person gets injured or sick, yes, it does make a big news item - mostly, because he's known to more people than the casual labor. I'm not saying that it is justified, but that's how it goes. People relate to celebrities as they seem them on TV and big screens. They feel like they know him. I'm sure you know what I am talking about. Hopefully, both Raju and the casual labor recover soon fully.

Thanks for your attention and comments
Whenever you drive a vehicle without due knowledge and expertise, you endanger the lives - not only yours but also of others - often the less privileged ones.
The point is well understood by you. Only i felt that we must relate to a common man as much as (or more, given his need for treatment and support) than to celebrities who anyway get the best possible attention in shortest possible time.
