Many Pakistani serials ending within 25 episodes might have got better rating though many other and Indian serials too should not have been more than around 25 episodes but having more episodes ( except comedy) do not confirm likes of the viewers. TV is the most convenient and cheaper( after radio) to kill the time and to feel the presence of someone in absense of family members. Therefore long undeserving serials might have managed but once out mean permanently out.
