Not acceptable....then why shud others hav hawker zones in their areas....all shud protest!!! If u don't wanna hawkers...pay for et area at u'r expenses completely!!! N yes.....u cannot use et area for any other purpose other than hawking!!! So don't get the idea of car parking!!!

Every one has a right to work his or hers own self and family. It totally depends upon the efficiency of the BMC how to manage over crowded place like Mumbai. BMC has failed so far to deliver what it is supposed to do . Ruling authorities has always favored the super rich . But every body as to accept the fact that these guys brings heavy revenue to the government , they pay huge amount of money for peace and space that should be respected. I am not in support not in favor either.

One thing is for sure. Bmc has no clue about hawker zone or how to manage?? You can go to hawkers zone n u will find police van standing with cops, if it's food zone the cop sipping tea or eating Bajjias. If it's veg zone u will see him walking around with a bag?? N same ff it's fruit zone with bag to collect.. I have seen so many times in Crawford market n VT before the cop van comes a warning given that the hawker flees.. Time the govt do some professional exercise n freeze the licences for hawk??

Its not about poor people but about marking a residential zone area as hawker zone. Knowing the way encroachment happens in India, I think its better to oppose such development upfront.

Strongly disagree. I am not reach my self…but that doesn't mean I envy whatever the reach would do. They have every right what kind of environment they want around where they stay as citizens of this country. Dont try to paint every thing with the brush called ReachVsPoor.
