Never heard about here or seen her work, so not judging or commenting about that. However, it takes some guts to call "sholay" and embarrassment and Satyajit Ray tolerable. This lady is brutally honest and hats off for that. If this helps a fraction of film makers / critics to think a bit more independendly, that would make a lot of difference.

there is no guts in saying... bcoz anyone cann say anything on anyone or anything.... it may be a borrowed idea but its brilliantly executed
Sholay is showing the timely action played by each character Ratna Ji I loved your action even, but a story, script writing & action in a movie makes it look like our Sholay. Think about it SHOLAY American idea but pakka Indian story.

US idea? when it became that? This movie was inspired by Japanese movie " Seven Samurai". This Japanese movie was copied in all language, incl Holywood and each of those movies were block busters in each language.
These are just quoted sentences... we can never be sure whether they were made against the movies and SJ Ray in exactly the same way most people are thinking or in reference to something else. So lets get the full interview before drawing any conclusion.
