Happy New Year Creates History - Smashes All Records
Baksindiadatkam
Happy New Year has created history on day one recording the highest collections ever on day one beating the Dhoom 3 figure of 32 crore nett. The Mumbai figures coming in are simply phenomenal and the film is now looking an early estimate of 38-40 crore nett. The Gujarat area alone may cross 5 crore nett smashing all previous records by a distance.
The film has run riot on day in multiplexes all over recording the highest occupancies since films started going wide with over 2000 screens. The mass circuits are also huge but are unlikely to beat records by the levels that multiplexes are beating. A circuit like Rajasthan is looking near 2 crore nett which is similar to Dhoom 3 but at that time there was no entertainment tax. Delhi/UP is an all time record with likely collections to touch 7 crore nett. Mumbai is expected to be arouund 14 crore nett.
Happy New Year is looking to beat the previous record by around 15-20% which is extraordinary as the long runtime meant less screenings at multiplexes. It could have added a few crore more with a shorther runtime but it is not that important as that will made up over the week if the film keeps the momentum going.

SRK movie making crores ,is not a big deal.Even Ra.one did roaring business. But what is the standard of the movie?
SRK is suitable only for love stories like DDLJ, DTPH, KKHH, KKKG, KANK, JTH, Mohabaatein, OSM, Chennai Express etc etc. He will love a girl who is already fixed for another man. He will win the girl at the end. That is the only story line in which SRK excels. Non romantic stories will fall flat if he acts in it. This is one more.

i can also a film to make myself happy in a dvd palyer or in my laptop. but when i am paying 250 -300 rupees to watch a movie, i would obviously want to watch a good movie if not an excellent movie, and would also like to feel that i can watch this movie again; not in theater but when this movie is premiered on television or on a dvd player.
So as far as i am concerned the critics are spot on and they are NOT AT ALL FEELING OR LOOKING FOOLISH.

If films like "Happy new year" are your definition of entertainment...then you dont really know what entertainment is all about..
This is a pure bundle movie, without story, nonsense movie. What SRK wants to prove? Is he a great actor? He is a overactor, Not an actor. He thinks he is above story

When U watch a movie by Buuddhhaa Rukh Khan and think about Quality, you have to wonder "Does a Bullock Cart need a Head light".

The film Mary Kom would have been far better if the lead role was given to someone else other than Priyanka Chopra

I hope the producer gets his money back but apart from that I do not wish this movie to be a success beyond a limit. Its just too insignificant a storyline and too much nonsense about paisa-vasool.
