After reading story on 'Garm Hawa' I went into my memory lane. It was 'Vigyan Bhavan' and Shri M.S.Sathyu was just sitting few seats away from me. There were other stalwarts like Satyajit Ray, Girish Karnad, A.K.Bir and many. I also won the national award for my documentary entitled, 'Saath Kutch Na Jayega' It was Dr.Fakrudin Ali Ahmed The Hon.President of India gave away the awards. Before two years Farooq Shaikh had come to Mahuva, Gujarat for 'Sadbhavna Forum' function organised by Morari Bapu. 'Garm Hawa' was also screened there as it was a maiden venture for Late Farooq Shaikh. These are my most memorable days of my life. Dhiru Mistry

Those were the days
by rajiv gupta on Nov 11, 2014 04:35 PM  | Hide replies

Those were the days when the films were based on human emotions and social environment. The directors had vision to bring out the stark realities of life on celluloid. That's is why even after 40 years we remember such movies. Just compare with todays movies like Bang-Bang and Happy New Year. How low can the Indian Film fraternity reach. Miserable.

I saw the film (night show) in Old Delhi (possibly in Filmistan) while I had to Delhi for interview in a company after passing out from IITK.

You are insulting the Bollywood fraternity by raking up Happy New Year here. That movie is for people who are born with no brains.

good to know that hindi films were screened at that time in Bangalore...when I went there for the first time in 1991, there were a string of cinema halls in magestic circle and none played hindi movies
