SD was a diehard East Bengal. I have personally heard from the East Bengal players of the time that whenever East Bengal was playing Mohun Bagan in Bombay (Rovers Cup), he would call up at half time to find out the state of the match, only if he heard that East Bengal was winning would he reach Cooperage and celebrate with the players after the match.
SD was a supported of East Bengal throughout his life. "In fact, in the last chapter that describes his death, the only time he reacts is when somebody tells him Mohun Bagan has won." He responded when he heard that East Bengal has won and not Mohun Bagan.
Thanks for the article on Sachin Dev Burman. He has been my favorite composer and I am awestruck by his creative output. He is the only composer who could adopt to changing times and tastes. Who could believe that man who composed Pyasaa and Aradhana are one and the same.I am yet to see another composer of his calibre to emerge. His son did show the spark of his father but unfortunately died young.
When you write about real great people -every thing looks mediocre -that is the greatness of great people .For me Rafi and SDB were ultimate -even if others sang excellent songs with SD Also today add ing masala is in thing to increase sales -at times it is insulting average Indian intelligence .I enjoyed this interview which I have not even read of one of the icons of India as I have no respect for one who does not raise his voice and talks rubbish after years

No doubt S.D's compositions sung by Mohammad are excellent but the compositions rendered in Kishore's voice have such a magical effect that youths of present generation are getting swayed.
