IN INDIA PEOPLE FROM GANDHI FAMILY WHO ARE THE CULPRITS OF ALL NEGATIVE HAPPENINGS IN INDIA AND ITS BACKWARDNESS EASILY HONOURED WITH BHARAT RATNA BUT A TRUE INDIAN SOUL LIKE BHUPEN HAZARIKA IS NEGLECTED. TO UDERSTAND THE STATURE OF BHUPEN HAZARIKA ONE SHOULD HAVE BIG HEARTS UNLIKE OUR SPINLESS POLITICIANS LIKE TARUN GOGOI WHO IS FRIEND OF BANLADESHI AND SYCOPHANT OF SONIA GANDHI.

Like the Nobel Prizes which are not awarded posthumously, the government must make it a rule that the Bharat Ratna is an award NEVER bestowed posthumously, unlike gallantry awards. Purely my own opinion.

Not of India. SO the question of bestowing him with Bharat Ratna (posthumously) does not arise AT ALL.

Narrow thinking. Bhupen Hazarika transcended the boundaries of Assam. His music and songs have been adapted to a lot of languages. He is a pride of India.
