Educational Qualification
by gudavarthy vijay on May 29, 2014 07:02 PM  | Hide replies

What Smriti Irani is facing is not coincidental. This is what will happen if you are not in the good books of Mr.Modi. How humiliating for a person who struggled her way through only to be told how ill qualified she is. In my assessment Mr.Modi intends to humiliate her as she was seen as belonging to Advani's camp.

If your views are true, it is tantamount deliberate humiliation. However, I am yet to get convinced Modi's intention was so that too risking government performance.

EDUCATION MATTERS YES IN KEY POSTS
by debesh kanungo on May 29, 2014 06:33 PM

talking/anchoring in fashion show & delivering dialogues as per direction is not easy too.But being a minister during one to one talk you have to talk sensibly. We need result but during process also citizens have every right to point out the shortcomings. Now many dislike her appointment as HRD Cabinet minister & many do not.But discussion ,comments are on which cant be checked in a natiion like ours.

BJP was demanding for fixing eligibilty through qualification for candidates contesting elections where as putting persons in key ministries without minimum qualification looks bad for the largest democracy.

educational qualification is a must for a cabinet minister
by monica singh on May 29, 2014 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

smriti irani may be quite vocal in english ,hindi or punjabi but she lacks basics of education.bjp should change her portfolio without getting into more controversy.HRD ministry is basically a very important and technical where future of millions of youngsters are on stake.non professional as well as under graduate and without higher education a person can not justify this position.FOREMOST IS WHY A NON GRADUATE IS MADE A MINISTER.FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Educational Qualification is not a must
by BS on May 29, 2014 12:28 PM  | Hide replies

Leadership qualities need not be associated with Educational Degrees. As long as one can read, write & communicate they can take any responsibilities.

Going by this (S*UPID) logic then Defence Minister must be soldier, Agricultural Minister shall be a farmer, Civil Aviation minister shall be a Pilot and so on.

Those who have knowledge about our Constitution should not make such comments. The actual work in any ministry is (supposed to be) done by the qualified bureaucrats and other trained personnel. The Legislature (or Minister) only makes policy decisions.

Let us remind ourselves of the Business Empire created by Late Mr. Dibubhai Ambani. What was his qualification? He did better than TATAs, BIRLAs who had access to the best possible education in their times.

Congress should be the last party on this earth to make such rubbish comments given that the Educational Qualification of their Supreme leader itself is nothing worth talking about. Did they forget they had a Minister in UPA called Lalu Prasad Yadav? Does that man have any qualification let alone educational qualification

The whole issue is actually related to qualification stated in affidavits. In 2004 affidavit she mentioned BA and in 2014 affidavit she has mentioned BCOM PART 1.Any citizen of India irrespetive of whether you are a common man or a to be citizen should not play around with legal documents by making false statements . if a responsible ministers action is taken lightly by whole of india then in future many more people will do the same and that this development is not good for the nation.

That's true. It questions her credibility and such affidavits are highly deplorable. I also agree that leaders need not be academics but should command sound leadership qualities. Does Smrithi's past has any evidence in this regard, other than some assigned roles by party?
