When I heard that Bhooter Bhobiswot is going to be re-made in Hindi, I was sure it would be 4th grade comedy because somehow the directors think that you have to resort to street level comedy in order to make people understand the humour. I believe people have their own sense of humour and their standard is much higher than these directors, but, sadly its still not realised in the hindi film industry
I've seen the original and am reading the review of the remake. Kaushik cannot claim this is the first movie of its kind. The original was awesome. Trust Hindi directors to make a mockery of a good film.
Many times, you see the promo and say- there goes the film! 'Bhooter Bhavishyat' is classic comedy. It does tread on the obscene side but only just, ending up titilating, not tormenting with an unending train of cheap lines. And I'm not surprised that the Hindi version came out looking all soggy-humoured. Bollywood hai- chalta hai! We're yet to discover another fine orator in Hindi Cinema. The last of the story-tellers seem to have long gone. Today it's all about selling a product, not about telling a nice story, mostly.
