Dinesh, Malavika and the BGM and some witty comedy
by drunken monk on Apr 01, 2014 01:50 PM

I saw the movie last week. Good natural performance and acting from Dinesh and Malavika. Some scenes give lumps in your throat and controlled tears. The last 20 minutes of the movie, Dinesh stole the show. Now wherever i see visually challenged people my respect as gone even more high for them.... Kudos to the director and the entire team.

The film is good. Has the usual melodramatic touch. Would rate it along with other differently abled films like Dosti,Koshish,Rajaparvai etc...The hero has excelled. The heroine has done a decent job. The support cast ie the heroines & hero's are very good. Some logical lapses. Good background score. But much much better that traditional vijay & ajith pot boilers.

A great making

I had fixed that I should watch this movie the very moment I saw the teaser post the audio release and I should say my intuition that this would be a class movie was proven right. The director by the movie has become a brand himself and it would be impossible for me to miss movies from brand Rajumurugan for this sort of quality. Cuckoo is an amazing bundle of emotions and every character is really lovable. Not to take away the credit from the music director Santhosh Narayanan as the movie appeals so much due to his music and the music has the romote to make us live in those emotions. Dinesh whom I rated as a great actor while watching Attakathi has live to my expectations and surely to those of other audience.I would confidently say he is the best actor among the current generation actors and directors should come forward to utilise his potential providing challenging roles as the one in this movie. Hats off to Dinesh.I personally wish actors like Dinesh should be real stars of tomorrow and not those who create stardom by creating fan base and by glam show. The whole unit has done a commendable job to give a good treat to the audience. It may be easy to create the mood of sympathy by filming the life of the blind but this movie stands tall by earning respect to the blind and make us the fully abled(physically) to see the disabled with great regards.Cuckoo is another feather in the crown of Tamil Film Industry- Krishna Dassan

Dinesh is a good find for Tamil movies... He was really brilliant in Attakathi itself...His emotions and performance was out-of-the world stuff... Great... We need to support Actors like Dinesh, Vijay Sethupathy who work according to the script requirements... We need such amazing actors now...

I also personally feel media is projecting the wrong guys as Stars who cant emote or do a convincing performance in a movie.. they should totally discourage promotion to actors who live only by their fans and vice-versa... hate such actors/fans...who just support for the heck of it or support 2 top heroes theroy inTamil Movies

Why nobody is pointing about the rogue passionate fans then? We say we are educated but check how they fight in blogs especially thala, thalapathi's fans on other actor's movies. Media cannot be blamed alone, the fans as well should grow up.

Im with you on this Aaron... Fans(particularly Rogue fans from both the camps who provoke and claim that the other actor is worst etc.,Its one's own opinion and it should be left at that and donot compare) and people attitude in General should change...

Now Boney Kapoor or David Dhawan will remake it
by Ratan on Mar 22, 2014 12:15 AM  | Hide replies

Now Boney Kapoor or David Dhawan will remake this movie, after making the changes to suit what they refer to as "North Indian sensibilities'. This means the following:

The lead roles will be played by superstars, who will wear designer wear and sing in trains across European cities

There will be at least two Punjabi-styled (but of course) wedding scenes. It will have all characters living in Sharmishta Roy-ish garish sets, wearing designer sarees and jewelry and wearing make-up even while sleeping.

And of course, they will NEVER show the original creator's name in the Hindi version's credits.

I just hope such films are taken up for remake by more sensible film makers emerging in Hindi cinema today and not such old far!s

well said ratan...
it'll be ranbir & deepika in lead, 2 punjabi grand weddings, 1 item song by priyanka or kareena. both will be blind beggars but will be driving a BMW or ferrari..
they r supposed to be blind in the movie but they'll act like mentally retarded..media praise their acting, filmfare gives best actor & actress award. also deepika gets a national award for her brilliant performance ..
