I am very surprised that Mr. Sen prides himself in being a "critic."
For starters, this "review" is an opinion. No critique of the film's execution, thrill, casting, background score is made. Titled "Ek Villain is too silly to thrill," but no critique of the film is actually done.
What is done here, is purely an opinion. So, you didn't like the film. As an audience, I don't care. We get it - you watch films from other countries and genres. Kudos. But we don't care. We are here to know your critique of this movie - what worked, what didn't, how was the craft executed.
The film is not original according to you - okay, thats a starting point. You didn't like the activing. We don't care. Tell us where the acting failed and how.
Learn your job. Sadly, you don't know it. Watching films is not hard - just learn to critique them.
I really wish rediff would get rid of this imbecile.

Hmm...Sanjaana with an extra a. But why should i care? heh...
Reviews are opinions. Honest opinions. Reviews can not be always 3 stars (like a major newspaper does) with equal dose on story, acting, music. Reviews can also be an interpretation of a reviewer which can be independent. You don't care? No problem...why are you here then? I watched the movie yesterday and i came back to read Raja's review and i realized how true is he in his opinion. I care, we need reviewers like him today. that's why this response Sanjaanaa with extra a (if that is your real name).

In one word, i guess, Mohit Suri is a wannabe director like Madhu Bhandarkar. We are not like david dhawans and prabhu deva. We are different.
There was everything in the movie (in the limited budget) but there was no soul. It was more like a government project where passionless director is working to finish things before deadline. The train scene, for example, there are two shots in it. In one shot, Shradha is sitting by the window and in other she is sitting with a gap so that she can be visible from that angle. I mean, how amateurish, I mean 40s and 50s we saw beter shot selections. There are numerous bloopers, which is so irritating and childish. The reviewer is right, it is an unnecessary movie.
