“What I want, I don't get. What I don't want I get". Those exactly happened and made him depart from our bonding so early. The insight Lataji flowered here deserves a precious collection to his lovers. It’s equally true that business world behaves as an unfaithful partner even to a talented person giving little space to return with his jewels.

Yup; like zandu malik, copy lahiri etc. But going beyond that, even they're compelled by the crass film directors, producers, financiers, music companies (& their outright commercial mentality) who think they're demi-gods of music just 'coz they control the finances.
Otherwise even Anu & Bappi have some truly standard n lilting music to their credits.

Just yesterday, there was this feature length film on RD. A bitter fact was conveyed. RD was to do Ram Lakhan & LP were to do Devaa for Subhash Ghai.
Somewhere down the way, Devaaa never really materialised & Ghai gave Ram Lakhan to LP. RD was flabbergasted that Ghai did not have even the courtesy to inform him of the change being made.

As opposed to this, Vidhu Vinod Chopra put his firmly down for 1942 Love Story & persisted with RD even though the music companies were opposing it to the hilt.
The clouds are not always dark; sometimes there's a silver lining too.

LP gave good music only for few directors .. like Manoj Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Subhash Ghai. They were good earlier no doubt but once they started with Mohd aziz and Shabbir kumar, they lost their standard. They survived due to their marketing skills

If any Pancham fan is interested, there is one book 'R D Burman, the man and music'. it is very nice book covering RD's career , his up and down.
WORLD is too big and can't be run on individual's aspiration ...therefore why to bother for the result though setting target is the biggest motivation factor in our career.
RD Burman's song in Aaandhi was best. Though Gulzar or Sakthi samanta brought best. Even some song ( cabret song) on Helen sung by Asha(Piya Too ab to aaja)was great. A R Rahman can not do justice on such song of Aaandhi or Piya too numbers

ARRahman became mulsm so that he can get access to sufi music and musician. Now that is exhausted and used he can return back to his roots.

Sorry dost. Here we should remember the legend Panchamda. We should not criticize the other living legend. Rahman too has no regional boundaries.

He gave hits only untill SD Burman was alive because he composed for RD some good tunes. After that RD failed except for the songs he copied from Western music.

@useless bollywood, dont use ur enpty brain, first learn about hindi music then comment. Style of RD was totally different than SDB. Infact when SDB was unwell , RD composed some of the songs for him. Jewelthief, Aaradhana are some examples where RD has composed one or more songs.

If you have guts, compose one line by yourself and prove that you are child of one parent.
