Who wants to watch a old , haggard looking Akshay kumar play a "young" army jawaan..Thuppakki was brilliant mainly because of the villian's (Vidyut Jamwal) charisma, which is sorely lacking in the Hindi version.

Only idiots will call Akshay Kumar Haggard looking , there are other idiots like SRK, Salman khan and Saif Ali khan who are more haggard looking and yet idiots call them actors. And there are idiots in South cinema like Dhanush who can't act but are called super stars .
