It's a scene-by-scene remake of Murugadoss' own Tamil film Thuppakki. Had the Hindi version been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala or Boney Kapoor, but directed by someone else, the title credits of the Hindi version will show, "Written and Directed by....Anees Bazmi (or David Dhawan or Satish Kaushik or Rohit Shetty, who shamelessly took credit for others' work). When it comes to Hindi remakes of regional films, the original is seldom acknowledged in credits.

omg. its a remake and not a copy. lot of movies in hollywood also remake. departed, old boy, grudge, the ring etc etc.will u still say they r copy? this is also directors own movie in tamil. so wats wrong in it. for me its a bad movie only. murugados is let down with tamil version too eventhough its a big hit.
