A good actor, chosen bad and worse movies. Just watch any of his bad movies, you ll realize that he did his acting wonderfully. Neither like Kamal in south India he could not establish as a class actor nor like AB or Mithun he could showcase as a mass actor
He is a good actor but never a great star. His success mostly came due to his paring with SREE DEVI and MADHURI. His brother tried to project him largely but failed.With lot of flops he is till pursuing career in LA.

Anil Kapoor performace was largely accepted in Karma over others , it was fifty fifty in Tezaab, it scored over other in Ram Lakhan , Eshwar, Kishen Kanhiya, but unfortunately it was his brother , who ruined his carrer like roop ki rani type of movies , Beta and Ladla movies
He had a successful streak in the mid 80's when AB cut down on movies (post Mard) for politics and a string of genuine hits in the late 80's (Karma, Ram Lakhan, Mr. India, Abhimanyu, Kishen Kanhaiya, Ghar Ho to Aisa,Parinda,Deewana Mastana). Problem was that his initial earnestness gave way to arrogance and he completely lost his intensity, plus the rise of then younger stars like Salman, Aamir and Sharukh completely eclipsed him
Anil Kapoor, Nayan Mongia, Martina Hingis all are the same category of people, they have the same school of thought. A few initial success and they start thinking they are bigger than the game.
know u or care about u. only the small anpad desi population settled in foreign countries would come and see you but now if you ask me not even they would come now. Did a couple of small roles and he thinks he is the next James bond.
